Professional Biography

Traci DuBose is a postdoctoral researcher who, as a part of a large interdisciplinary team, is examining stream conditions across the eastern US and how conditions relate to freshwater mussel health. Traci received her B.S. in biology from the University of Texas at Dallas, her M.S. in applied geography from the University of North Texas, and her Ph.D. in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Oklahoma. Her dissertation research examined effects of climate on the functional niche of freshwater mussels. During a postdoc at Virginia Tech, she used ecological modelling to identify frog and toad species sensitive to climate change and to aid cross-jurisdictional conservation of red-cockaded woodpeckers. She is currently an ORISE fellow with the USFS Southern Research Station and is jointly mentored by Dr. Steve Price and Dr. Wendell Haag.
